ShotBotz
A high-concurrency developer screenshot capture API service capable of rendering accurate full-page snapshots across desktop, tablet, and mobile viewports with simulated device pixel ratios.
// 01. Problem & Architecture Challenge
Modern web applications rely heavily on dynamic client-side rendering (SPA, WebGL, lazy-loaded hydration). Traditional server-side renderers or simplistic HTML-to-image conversion tools produce blank screens, clipped footers, or misaligned CSS grid layouts. ShotBotz was engineered to emulate full browser environments with authentic viewport sizing, GPU rasterization, and network idle verification before triggering the capture frame.
// 02. Serverless Execution Pipeline
Running headless Chromium instances within AWS Lambda requires careful memory allocation and cold-start optimization. By packaging a custom compiled Chromium binary layer alongside Lambda container images and utilizing ephemeral storage for font caching, cold start times were reduced from 4.2 seconds to under 780 milliseconds.
Client Request → API Gateway (Token Auth)

→ Page Navigate & WaitForNetworkIdle()
→ Capture PNG/WebP Buffer
→ Stream Upload to S3 + CloudFront Signed URL
→ Response JSON Payload // 03. Core Capabilities
